Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I become a Zoroastrian?

Yes. Absolutely.
According to Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights — and in the spirit of Asho Zarathushtra’s universal call — every individual has the right to choose their own faith.
Zoroastrianism, as part of the cultural heritage of Greater Iran, warmly welcomes those who seek to walk this path with a clear mind and sincere heart.
To learn more, please see the article titled "Choosing the Zoroastrian Faith" on our homepage.

2. Where do I begin?

Start by exploring the ideas and teachings of Asho Zarathushtra.
Our educational arm, Sepanta University, affiliated with the Behdin Fellowship, provides essential reading and resources to help you take this step with understanding and confidence.

3. How can I go through the Sedreh Pushi (initiation) ceremony?

The Fellowship maintains a list of qualified officiants based on your location.
We’re happy to help coordinate and connect you with a suitable officiant when you're ready.

4. Do I need to prepare for the ceremony?

Yes. Prior to the official ceremony, you’ll coordinate with the officiant and review the steps of the ritual together.
This preparation ensures the Sedreh Pushi is performed with dignity, clarity, and spiritual meaning.

5. What happens after the ceremony?

You may request an official Sedreh Pushi Certificate issued by the Behdin Fellowship.
This certificate — signed by the officiant and a witness — allows you to become a formal member of the Fellowship and participate in our programs and events.

6. How do I join the Behdin Fellowship?

To become a member, you must first complete the Sedreh Pushi ceremony.
Afterward, you are welcome to take part in our meetings, programs, and community rituals.
Membership is currently free — though your donations help keep our mission alive and growing.

7. Are there any fees or dues?

No. Membership is free.
However, voluntary contributions are deeply appreciated — they help us organize events, support our members, and expand our educational offerings.

8. Do you offer educational courses?

Yes, we do.
Our introductory course, “The Message of Asho Zarathushtra,” is open to all and offered through Sepanta University.
These courses are a wonderful way to deepen your understanding of Zoroastrian thought and practice.

9. Is the Fellowship a registered organization?

Yes. The Behdin Fellowship is a registered religious and non-profit organization in the State of California.
We work in cooperation with international Zoroastrian institutions, and our educational branch, Sepanta University, is an officially affiliated body.
